With great success was held the 3rd Conference of Architecture and Tourism in Rhodes on 20 and 21 October 2018. The large number of participants created a full house by the end of the Conference.
The Congress of Architecture and Tourism in Rhodes is an institution organized by the Association of Architects Dodecanese, the Technical Chamber of Dodecanese, the Technical Chamber of Greece, the electronic Archisearch Architecture platform, the South Aegean Region, the Chamber of Commerce of the Dodecanese and the Municipality of Rhodes, the Rhodes Hotel association, the PROTOUR and the Aegean University
This year, the organization held at Rodos Palace in the care of the production company Design Ambassador Vassilis Bartzokas and electronic platform Archisearch.gr Hosts Tom Lindblom, Hospitality Leader and Studio Director of Gensler leading international office, based in London and representatives of several large office abroad. Margarita Boulaki, represented the large desk in London Squire and Partners, Joanna Mitropoulou the Ennismore, Dimitris Grozopoulos office Fletcher Priest. Meanwhile, Costas Poulopoulos from SquareOne office, Laertes Kingdom with LAAV Architects office and the architect and award winning photographer and instagrammer Peace Giotopoulou held workshops.
Summarizing the many interesting issues that have been mentioned during this two-day event, we can say that a common theme of the conference’s speeches was that sustainable and responsible growth is necessary not only for residents but also to keep the attractive tourism product itself.
To achieve sustainable tourism development requires partnership and unity of all social, political and economic factors and particularly emphasized the responsibility that we all have to protect the natural environment and our cultural heritage
The conference was supported by major companies from the materials, equipment and technology field and among them AKRITAS, which always supports innovative initiatives related to the evolution of modern architecture and building.
